1.1 Introduction

Structure

A preinsulated pipe is made up of an inner pipe that transports materials, an outer coating pipe and a thermal insulator between the two layers. The MVA-ISOLAR system contains all the components and accessories that are necessary for building a thermal­ly insulated pipeline.

2.1 The inner Pipe

If specially requested, it is possible to use pipes that are different from those given in the tables below showing the products in size, accuracy, material and preparation.

Steel service pipe: St 37 grade  welded or seamless, according to DIN 1626/DIN 2458, or  MSZ EN 10216-2:2002, MSZ EN 10217-2:2002, MSZ EN 10217-5:2002.

Outer coating

1. spirally folded aluminum sheet-pipe for pipes exposed to solar radiation and indoor open pipelines

2. HDPE pipe for underground, directly earth-covered pipelines

If specially requested, other eg. HDPVC, PP, etc.

Coating pipe: primarily high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe according to MSZ EN 253:2003 or spi­rally folded aluminum pipe.

Thermal Insulation

Up to 138+2 °C for long-term operation, (150 °C short-term maximum load) PUR-foam.

For long-term use over 140 °C highly heat-resistant, inorganic insulating material, accompanied by PUR­ foam.

Sealing compounds

The outer coating pipes of the preinsulated sectional pipes are fastened with the use of shrinking sleeves and MPL-2 band. Security against water is provided by another protective system in the ISOLAR system, which is manifested through the flexible sealing com­ponent used during the production and the on-site fas­tening of the sectional pipes.

The ISOLAR preinsulated  pipe system allows for an installation with respect to local specialties. This advantage results from several different aspects that are characteristic of the system:

4.1 The ISOLAR System

The use of the preinsulated pipe system and pipe building system is of great variety.

Based on experiments, investigations and building experience home and abroad, together with the use of the newest research results, the manufacturer is con­stantly widening the applicability of the ISOLAR system, bringing it closer to the expectations of cus­tomer's special requests.

Today electro sleeves are also available that make homogeneous coating possible.

There are also new constructional fixed components that ensure the lack of corrosion and stone-bridges. It is also possible to create a bound and a sliding  system with the help of adequate planning and choice of components.

Bound System

There is a constant adhesive (force-transmitting) con­nection between the inner pipe and the coating pipe containing the insulation.

Sliding System

There is a sliding, frictional connection between the inner pipe and the coating pipe containing the insula­tion.

Electronic control system

It is possible to order this system as an accessory of the ISOLAR system to control the undamaged condition of the preinsulated pipe-system in use. It also indicates accidental leaks in the inner pipe or the outer coating pipe (that is the soaking of the insulating mate­rial) and informs about the possible place of the leak.

Heated Pipelines

If specially requested the MVA-ISOLAR pipe compo­nents can also be manufactured with electronic heat­ing wires of different temperatures (from +40 to +120 °C), or with accessory hot water or steam heating pipes.

In this case the temperature of the material to be trans­ported can be maintained over long distances and also during shutdown.
